Who we are | O ai matou

The Government of Samoa in June 2019, devised an elementary cybersecurity emergency response protocol namely, Samoa’s National Computer Emergency Response Team (SAMCERT).

SamCERT serves as the nation’s central defense against cyber threats. Operating within the Digital Transformation & Innovation (DTI) Division under the strategic direction of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT), we are the national mechanism responsible for coordinating the response to cyber incidents and ensuring the digital safety of Samoa.

Our mandate extends beyond reactive support; we proactively identify the cyber threat landscape to implement robust mitigation measures. We are dedicated to protecting essential government information, services, and critical national infrastructure while ensuring business continuity and disaster recovery. Through specialized training for government ICT administrators and public cyber safety initiatives, SamCERT is committed to building a secure and resilient digital environment for all of Samoa.
