SamCERT joins Global Cyber Incident Response Network via prestigious 4-year Fellowship
(APIA, SAMOA - 25 Nov 2025) - The Samoa National Computer Emergency Response Team (SamCERT) has been accepted for the 2026 FIRST Suguru Yamaguchi Fellowship Program, connecting Samoa directly to a global trust network of over 800 incident response teams.
This highly competitive four-year fellowship transitions SamCERT from a national operator to a key member in the international cybersecurity community. The program provides SamCERT with real-time global threat intelligence, specialised mentorship, and a pathway to full membership in the Forum of Incident Response & Security Teams (FIRST).
Key Program Highlights:
- Incident Response Collaboration and Partnership: Foster strong relationships and trust with other fellowship teams, regional and international partners to enhance information sharing and lay the groundwork for future collaboration.
- Annual FIRST Conference Support: Participation in hands-on training and mentoring and building SamCERT technical capacity.
- FIRST Membership Support: Receive assistance in becoming a full member of the FIRST community.
Neighbouring Pacific Island countries that have graduated from the Fellowship Program include Tonga's Computer Emergency Response Team - CERT Tonga and CERT Vanuatu - CERT VU.
