Ministry of Communication and Information Technology (MCIT) conducted a three (3) day training in collaboration with Welchman Keen team as part of a partnership with the International Telecommunications Union under the Partner2Connect initiative.
Data protection is a crucial part of any organization’s information security strategy. The spread of social networks in Samoa have promoted access to information and data privacy is a concern for such access to the Internet. The global supply chain is affected where nations are more exposed to critical information being exposed or stolen. Government agencies must understand how to protect their critical assets, especially their data to ensure it is not leaked, stolen, or manipulated by unauthorized people. As Samoa moves more towards online services, data privacy is taking on greater importance.
This training aims to further improve the capacity of officials that are directly involved in ICT network systems, data management and policy matters. There are three major components under this training:
-
Privacy & Data Protection
-
Cybersecurity Public Policy
-
Social Engineering & Ransomware
